Watch Out for Urban Flooding

Rain, wind, heavy rain, thunder and lightening.

It was a wild night across the region and here on Beacon Hill.

Walking this morning I spotted this stopped up storm drain causing trouble at the corner of Atlantic and 17th.

Rain is in the forecast for at least the next week straight, so now's the time to get out and clean out those drains near your house.

There are more than 80-thousand storm drains just in the city of Seattle and utility crews can't watch them all.

This particular 'urban pond' doesn't seem to be impacting the nearby homes, but it is slowing traffic and running down into the nearby park.

Basements are also at risk with this kind of heavy rain.

I'm sure its a warning we all hear every year, but now's the time to heed the warning.
