Sentencing today for man convicted of brutal beating on Beacon Hill

Justin Lee Phillips, the man convicted of brutally beating 25-year-old Dawit Alemu on Beacon Hill back in June, will be sentenced at 1 p.m. today.

Prosecutors claim that on June 18, five or six men--including Phillips--jumped him on the street outside his home in the 1900 block of 13th Avenue South in Beacon Hill.

The beating was so vicious that Alemu barely survived.
