Responding to Public Drunkenness

Debate continues among neighbors about the continuing problem of public drunkeness and claims that some businesses may be selling alcohol to obviously intoxicated customers.

One neighbor, who asked not to be identified, is urging others to begin reporting specific incidents of 'overserving' to the Washington State Liquor Control Board.

Anyone who wishes to do so can call the WSLC at 206.439.3703 and leave a message including your name, your contact information, a description of the incident as well as the name and address of the store you are calling to report (or do it online here)

You may recall I covered this issue earlier this fall and asked both mayoral candidates what they would do to help curb it.  Listen to how now mayor-elect Mike McGinn answered my question on the subject.  Now McGinn is taking suggestions on his transition website from the public on problems his new administration should tackle and how solutions can be achieved.

Perhaps that would be a forum to ask McGinn to begin addressing a practical solution to this neighborhood issue.
